We are very proud of our market, the stallholders and the produce that is available from the market throughout the year. Much of this produce is seasonal, and as we revel as the seasons change and we have new and exciting items to use, or to cook down to keep over the winter months. Soups need to be done, hearty bread to be brought home for the family table, the bakers dealing with damper conditions, the chocolatier dealing with the change in cream from pasture to winter shed, new cheeses becoming available, will Buffalo mozzeralla be available this winter?
This year we are fortunate to have some fantastic hot food available, and we recognise the commitment from chefs that probably do not see alot of bed-time during the winter months to have hot food available for Saturday.
Our market is about food. Our market is about producer. Our market is about our customers - many who make the journey in the most trying conditions.
As one, if not the best Farmers Market in Leinster, and for that matter the country, we do appreciate that our customers come for the produce, but we appreciate that they come for much more than just that. We also appreciate that they come to sometimes just cheer us up on a damp Saturday morning! , not to mention to meet up, chat, and spend time in the midst of a lively thriving market environment..
